This was a trip I took to an out-of-the-way town in northern Iowa. Although my guide wasn't able to join me, and thereby show me some of the places outside of town, I discovered a lot about Decorah on my own. It was a wonderful experience, and it was a grand adventure.
The town smelled like food the entire time I was there, and the people were amazingly friendly to a complete stranger. I was welcomed and helped at every turn, to the point that it felt like I was on a resort instead of in a tiny town.
Like most of my galleries, these are not the usual images you'll find on postcards or in tour books. These photographs are of the places and things that caught my eye as I explored the area. Sometimes the reason why I stopped to share the view with you may be obvious, sometimes it may be a small detail in the corner of the image. Look carefully, and enjoy.
